Robert Porter, Jr.
I would love to say that I found my art, but it really found me. Despite 42 years in a career that needed my left brain, in the mid-eighties, I found that my right brain would not remain silent. Faces intrigue me, especially older ones with their histories written all over them. I am self-taught and enjoy pencils, charcoals, and watercolors, and have become known for my collection of colored pencil sketches of Victorian Santas. I also enjoy writing and singing; I wrote the biography about Coach Jack Kobuskie, titled “Across the Fields of Yesterday.” I am a former resident of Gloversville, NY, and I became a member of Sacandaga Valley Arts Network in 2019. I have lived in Delaware for most of my adult life. I am married to Susan J. Parone; we have a son Benjamin, a daughter, Megan Porter-Keeth, and two granddaughters Sophia Keeth and Emma.
