Journeys

The Northville Library Gallery Show “Journeys” will present the artwork of SVAN member Janet Yeates.   Janet exhibits her oil paintings at galleries and arts centers throughout the region.  This show will be open during regular library hours starting May 8th. A reception with refreshments will take place on Tuesday, May 13, 5-7pm with a gallery walk/talk from 6-6:30.

Paint a Still Life

Save the date for this hands-on workshop. A vase filled with flowers will be the focus of this painting. Instructions, guidance and encouragement will be provided. Painters of all skill levels are welcome. Children age 10 or older welcome with an adult. Seating is limited. For reservations email vicepresident@svanarts.org

Fee: $20 includes materials ($15 with SVAN members’ discount).

Artist Reception

Meet and speak with Constance Dodge, our featured artist for rotation 4. Dodge holds a Masters of Fine Arts in Painting and has shown in many galleries, including the Amos Eno Gallery in New York City. In addition to Dodge’s works the gallery is filled with art and fine crafts of many regional artists. The gallery is a great place to meet folks, see amazing art works and maybe do some holiday gift shopping.

Class 2: Scarf or Lap Throw

Building on skills from class 1, new stitches and designs possibilities will be introduced and practiced. Using crochet hooks, yarns and needles from class 1 participants will start a scarf of lap throw. Participants are welcome to bring their own yarns.
