SVAN Workshops

Intermediate and Advanced Painting
with Constance Dodge

Under the Sponsorship of the Sacandaga Valley Arts Network, well-known artist Constance Dodge will teach a series of six painting classes at the Edinburg Community Center. Classes will run from 6 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. beginning on May 8. This class is suited for intermediate and advanced students, age sixteen to adult. Former students, welcome back!

Students will explore the versatility of acrylic paint, which can be manipulated to look like oil or can appear like the washes of watercolor. Those of you with a foundation in oil paint, and who have the supplies, would be welcome to join the class. Emphasis will be on composition, the language of color, dramatic light, spatial relationships, painting techniques and using themes from everyday life.

Classes will happen on May 8, 15, 22, 29, June 5 and 12. It will be limited to 12 students. Email me at if interested.
